Why three offices are greater than one

In our connected, fast-paced world, the client/agency relationship can be effectively delivered across the world without the need for regular face-to-face contact. However, with 84% of people stating they prefer meeting in person, it remains integral that as an agency we’re able to travel on request to meet our clients.

We have a perfect solution to suit the needs of our clients: to expand our agency across three offices. Our dedicated teams across three different regions attract new business, form close client relationships and have the organisational expertise to work remotely and flexibly. We are able to travel the UK and further afield to connect effectively with our clients while remaining resourceful and cost effective.

Expanding the talent pool

We have studios in Leeds, London and Manchester. This means our team is culturally diverse with a wide range of knowledge and experience.

We share individual expertise across the team, but recognise our regional and locational differences. This allows us to have a maximised talent pool across the country for our clients to benefit from.

The need for networking

According to Meeting Professionals International, 40% of prospects converted to new customers via face-to-face meetings. Being able to engage with potential clients in person is particularly important. Our expert Account Managers based across the UK are always on the lookout to help new brands develop.

Placemaking expertise

As placemaking and destination specialists, getting to know the locations we’re branding is particularly important. Taking the time to absorb the culture and key features of the locality gives us an extra dimension of expertise. We can outsource work internally throughout our three offices to ensure the most suitable DS.E members are part of the account team. This gives us a competitive edge when it comes to attending on-site visits. We enjoy really being able to immerse ourselves in the brand and place.

Choosing strategic locations, effectively triangulating the country, means our London team are able to access key locations such as Dukes Lane, a retail and leisure destination located in Brighton. Our team manages events and photography shoots as well as knowing the local business owners on a one-to-one basis.

Face-to-face benefits

Our team from all three offices travel nationally – and regularly. We’re all committed to delivering the best work for our clients. Often this requires holding a meeting much further afield.

During a meeting, it is possible to receive instant feedback on your ideas. This opens the conversation into a collaborative brainstorm rather than a chain of emails. However, the same effect can be achieved during a phone or Skype conversation.

Remote working does work

Technology such as Skype and regular telephone/email communication means we are readily available to all our clients. With the rise of remote and flexible working, we are getting more used to connecting digitally rather than necessarily in person. A report from OddsMonkey suggests that over half of UK workers will be working remotely by 2020 – meaning we’ll need to get used to a new way of working together.

Our office timeline

  • Our Leeds office first opened in 1991
  • It was London calling in 1996, when we opened our office in Clerkenwell
  • We expanded to Manchester in 2013
  • …Where’s next for the DS.E team?
