DSE Ranked 86th in the Top 100

May 2009

DS Emotion moved up 6 places in this years Design Week Top100 study, but what does it mean to customers? It means that we have more fee income and this is because clients trust us year in year out with their big long term projects.

It also shows we are here to stay, which is handy to know if your development will take 10 years to come to fruition...

Branding Bury with Danny Boyle and Elbow

May 2009

Film-maker Danny Boyle, rock band Elbow and Gold medal-winning paralympic athlete Zoe Robinson today (11th May) received the Freedom of the Borough of Bury following DS.Emotion's re-branding of the town.

DS.Emotion have been working with Bury in Greater Manchester for the last twelve months, building a brand for the successful and booming town. Key stakeholders brought together in the branding process from the public and private sector include Bury Council, Ask Developments, Thornfield Properties who are also working with DSE on the marketing of The Rock, the towns world famous Market, the award willing Mill Gate Shopping Centre and Bury Football Club.

The campaign has now moved from creating brand clarity for Bury (see reference doc from council) to the inward investment phase, where, over the next twelve months, DSE will be promoting the 'Borough' to National and International audiences in a bid to attract new investors including; businesses, retailers, and leisure operators.

In April 2010 the campaign will move to promoting Bury to the public in order to attract more consumers and residents form the catchment and stem leakage. This will culminate in a series of events though the summer of 2010.

The Freedom of the Borough award, In the case of Zoe, 19, from Ramsbottom, was "in recognition of her outstanding achievement in winning a Team Gold Medal in the Sport of Boccia at the Beijing Paralympic Games 2008".

In the case of Danny, from Radcliffe, it was "in recognition of his outstanding achievements in directing the Oscar Winning Film Slumdog Millionaire and continued commitment to making acclaimed films of the highest quality".

Each member of Elbow - Craig Potter, Mark Potter, Pete Turner, Richard Jupp and lead singer Guy Garvey, got the award "in recognition of Elbow's collective achievements as winners of a Brit Award, a Mercury Prize and an NME Award and the continued commitment to producing music of distinction".

DS.Emotion hope that the promotion of these high achieving individuals will help to build awareness of the Borough and fuel the already strong pride that exists within it's residents.
